Particip GmbH is a private consultancy firm in the field of international development cooperation. Particip implements projects worldwide, in Africa, Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. Our services cover a broad range of areas, including economic development, public administration, public finance, support for aid management, social and human development, education, environment, communication as well as monitoring & evaluation. Since our establishment in 1989, we have managed more than 1,800 projects in over 150 countries. Our multi-disciplinary teams work for international organisations, such as the European Union, World Bank, and national development agencies, such as the GIZ and KfW.

Job description

The Project Manager (PM) at Particip head office is respon­sible for the management of international cooperation and evaluation projects as well as business development in economic development and/or public sector support.

The PM has the following main responsibilities and tasks:

  • Management of projects (technical management, administrative and contractual management, financial control)
  • Monitoring and support (technical and administrative) of our international project teams worldwide with a focus on Africa
  • Involvement as a technical expert supporting our project and evaluation teams worldwide
  • Liaison and networking with clients, implementation partners, service providers and project staff worldwide
  • Business development, an important part of the day-to-day work (assessing business opportunities, identifying project teams, preparing technical proposals etc.)
  • Project management and business development missions worldwide
  • Contribution to internal knowledge sharing and capitalization

Requirements

Academic background:

  • Master’s degree, ideally in Economics / Business Administration or Public administration, International development, Political sciences
Professional experience:
  • At least 3 years of project management experience gained in international cooperation and/or in the private sector
  • Work or study experience abroad would be an advantage
Soft skills:
  • Excellent self-organising skills
  • Strong affinity with project management
  • Proven analytical, conceptual and writing skills
  • Strong intercultural, communication and networking skills
  • Good team spirit
Languages:
  • English: very good (minimum requirement C1)
  • French: very good (minimum requirement C1), Without this language knowledge, it is pointless to apply for this vacancy
IT skills:

  • Strong command of Word and Excel
