Project description

The overall objective (Impact) is to contribute to the strengthening of the partnership between the European Union and the Republic of Mauritius.

The specific objectives (Outcomes) are as follows:

  • (SO)1 - Support the implementation of the MIP
  • (SO)2 – (i) Support policy dialogues with the government and other key stakeholders, in key and emerging EU priority areas as well as in other ad-hoc subjects, through the organisation of events (conferences, seminars, workshops, and similar platforms), and (ii) Conduct short-term studies

Job description

Support to leveraging EFSD+, GCF or other international finance, i.e. by identifying and formulating action(s) for potential funding in the fields of climate adaptation or mitigation, environmental management and circular/green economy.

Requirements

A. Qualifications

  • At least a Master's degree in circular economy, environmental management, environment engineering, sustainable development or any other related field of study.
B. General professional experience
  • Minimum 12 years of general professional experience with demonstrated experience working in the circular economy field.
C. Specific professional experience
  • Specific professional experience in sustainable consumption and production (SCP), circular economy, policy analysis and environmental economics.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ working experience on project formulation
  • Experience in the formulation of at least 3 projects that were financed by international development partners.
  • Concrete experience with and good knowledge of the European Development Aid, Green Climate Funds, EU’s EFSD+ and other public or private sustainable finance instruments will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the Mauritian situation is an advantage.
D. Language skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate fluently in English (written and spoken).
  • French is an advantage but not a requirement.

Additional information

Expected to travel one (1) time to the location of assignment, during the execution of the contract.
