Project description
The project aims is to provide a Technical Assistance to public agencies that support private sector development in Malawi, with the aim of improving the business operating environment in the country, for increased investment and job creation. The intervention will work with several government institutions including, the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTI), Malawi Investment and Trade Centre (MITC), Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS), Competition and Fair Trading Commission, and Malawi Agricultural and Industrial Investment Corporation (MAIIC).

Requirements
Qualifications and skills
- Minimum requirement: A master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Studies, or Business Administration. Alternatively, a bachelor in the same fields plus 5 additional years of relevant professional experience on top of the required general professional experience.
General professional experience
- Minimum requirement: 10 years of experience in development finance,
- Preferred requirement: Experience in delivering capacity-building initiatives in the area of development finance.
Specific professional experience
- Minimum requirement: 7 years of experience working on facilitating long-term financing for businesses,
- Preferred requirement: Demonstrable experience working directly on improving capabilities for raising capital in a financial institution from domestic and international sources,
- Preferred requirement: Proven track-record in preparing feasibility studies for big transformative bankable projects,
- Preferred requirement: Proven track-record in conducting analytical work to assess the financial, economic, and social impact of development finance initiatives,
- Preferred requirement: Experience working in development finance in Sub-Saharan Africa,
- The expert should be fluent in English.
