Development of Multi -Hazard Basin Risk Management Plans for 3 river basins in the west Side of Georgia - Rioni, Enguri, Chorokhi – Adjaristskali.

  • TASK I: Preparatory/Inception Phase
In agreement with NEA and PMU (Project Management Unit) ensures that detailed workplan for the assignment (with indication of timelines, responsible parties, etc.) and stakeholder participation mechanisms are in place.
  • Task II: Drafting Stakeholder consultation report
Development of the report to describe the stakeholder engagement process (workshops, community meetings) and reflect all results which will be important information for the identification of additional prioritized hazard risk areas, where will be carried out more detailed studies (by using appropriate technical support and other suggested solutions) and to develop corresponding measures for its reduction which should be in line with stakeholder priority.
  • TASK III: Drafting of the Basin level MHRBMP
Working closely with central and municipal authorities during the process of
MHRM planning and to develop integrated basin-level MHRMPs for each major river basin:
Enguri, Rioni, Ajaristskali-Chorokhi, River Basins, with participation of all relevant stakeholders. It is
envisaged that these plans will take a bottom-up, multi-stakeholder approach which will be mainstreamed
into the national on-going work on the development of the river basin management plans as per Guidance
Documents of EU Water Framework Directive and will be in line with the concept and objectives of the EU
Floods Directive
